As an Australian, I’m culturally obliged to tell you that AC/DC is one of the greatest rock bands to have ever existed. In much the same way I also need to tell you about the dangers of Drop Bears and how Vegemite is really much tastier than Marmite ever could be. And I’m also obliged to tell you that AC/DC’s song Let There Be Rock is a perfect rock song. But what if told you it could be more perfect? Dear readers, I present to you the cover version of the perfect rock song performed by Henry Rollins and the Hard-Ons. An  amazing, and weirdly, oft-forgotten track from one of the most famous punk rock renaissance men I know of partnered with one of Australia’s great punk bands – the Hard-Ons. It’s a blistering track from start to finish, taking the groundwork that AC/DC laid down, and building upon it the sonic equivalent of a high-speed train (I warned you I was a terrible music critic).

If you need to get up and go in the morning, put this record on. And if you’d like the visuals to go with it, the video clip is also great, complete with Henry wearing a paper clerical collar. The B side is also great, and this is a gentle nudge from me to you to go and check out the back catalogue of the Hard-Ons and Henry Rollins as soon as you can.
