I’ve added a page for the various articles I’ve been putting together in my spare time. None of these are technical masterpieces by any stretch. However, I’ve found that, when reading manuals and explaining things to clients, I find that a copy of the accompanying screenshots is useful. So maybe you’ll find them useful too. I might get a bit more organised and divide this page into sections, but don’t hold your breath.

Hi,
I was reading your article clariion cx700 flare recovery and was wondering where you got the recovery image from?
I am having a similar problem with an AX4 and am looking for the recovery image to try and load into it.
I have the AX4-5-Bundle-02.23.050.5.710.pbu package but it is no good to me without the recovery image.
Any help is appreciated.
Cheers
Daniel

is there article for the unmanaged sp controller solution. tnx
Hi manny,
There’s a number of reasons why a CX SP goes unmanaged. Do you have more details about the problem? That might it make it easier to target a solution for you.
Dan
Thanks alot for such good documents with screenshots. Do you have similar documents for symmetrix?
Glad you found the documents useful. I don’t have any for symm at this stage.
I have an immediate and urgent need for an on-site EMC storage resource at one of our clients in DFW, TX. The resource would need to have expert level understanding of iSCSI, EMC Clariion and VNXe storage systems to perform storage migration from an existing Clariion system to a new VNXe system. Would you know anyone that could do this?
Hi Taryn,
I’m sorry I can’t help you – the only person I know in DFW already works for EMC.
Thanks,
Dan
Hi Dan,
I am having a same problem as Daniel above with my AX4 and am looking for the recovery image *.mif
I managed to download *.pbu file but it won’t help at this stage.
Dan can you contact me with Daniel from the post please. Maybe he managed to find it somewhere.
Much appreciated.
Lukasz

Hi Guys..
Could Some one help me the Process and Procédure for RAID GROUP DEGFRAGMENTATION in EMC Clariion CX4-960 Storage Array. The information is very Urgent. Folks, please help ASAP..
Thanks & Regards,
Ram
Hi Ra,
In Unisphere, go to Storage -> Storage Pools -> RAID Groups.
Right-click on the RAID Group you want to defragment.
Select Properties.
Go to the Partitions tab.
If the RAID Group can be defragmented you’ll see a Defragment button.
Note that defragmenting a RAID Group is a time-consuming process and isn’t the same as defragmenting a file system.
Thanks,
Dan
