I wore some <a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/m\/mutomdi01.html\">Mutombo<\/a> sneakers in high school, and I enjoy watching <a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/r\/robindu01.html\">Duncan Robinson<\/a> light it up for the Heat. My favourite ever to wear 55 was &#8220;White Chocolate&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/w\/willija02.html\">Jason Williams<\/a>. Let\u2019s get random.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/techunplugged.io\/2021\/05\/04\/vmware-cloud-foundation-with-intel-optane-an-architectural-deep-dive\/\">This article<\/a> from my friend <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/darkkavenger\">Max<\/a> around Intel Optane and VMware Cloud Foundation provided some excellent insights.<\/li>\n<li>Speaking of friends writing about VMware Cloud Foundation, <a href=\"https:\/\/vaughnstewart.com\/2021\/05\/11\/4-reasons-why-vmware-cloud-foundation-vcf-is-simply-better-on-flashstack\/\">this first part<\/a> of a 4-part series from <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/vStewed\">Vaughn<\/a> makes a compelling case for VCF on FlashStack. Sure, he gets paid to say nice things about the company he works for, but there is plenty of info in here that makes a lot of sense if you&#8217;re evaluating which hardware platform pairs well with VCF.<\/li>\n<li>Speaking of VMware, if you&#8217;re a VCD shop using NSX-V, it&#8217;s time to move on to NSX-T. <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.vmware.com\/cloudprovider\/2021\/05\/vmware-nsx-migration-for-cloud-director-assessment-mode.html?utm_source=rss&amp;utm_medium=rss&amp;utm_campaign=vmware-nsx-migration-for-cloud-director-assessment-mode\">This article<\/a> from VMware has the skinny.<\/li>\n<li>You want an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theregister.com\/2021\/05\/10\/openpower_open_source_bmc\/\">open source version<\/a> of BMC? Fine, you got it. Who would have thought securing BMC would be a thing? (Yes, I know it should be)<\/li>\n<li>Stuff happens, hard drives fail. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.backblaze.com\/\">Backblaze<\/a> recently published its drive stats report for Q1. You can read about that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.backblaze.com\/blog\/backblaze-hard-drive-stats-q1-2021\/\">here<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Speaking of drives, check out <a href=\"https:\/\/netflixtechblog.com\/netflix-drive-a607538c3055\">this article from Netflix on its Netflix Drive product<\/a>. I find it amusing that I get more value from Netflix&#8217;s tech blog than I do its streaming service, particularly when one is free.<\/li>\n<li>The people in my office laugh nervously when I say I hate being in meetings where people feel the need to whiteboard. It&#8217;s not that I think whiteboard sessions can&#8217;t be valuable, but oftentimes the information on those whiteboards should be documented somewhere and easy to bring up on a screen. But if you find yourself in a lot of meetings and need to start drawing pictures about new concepts or whatever, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.justingarrison.com\/blog\/2021-02-02-remote-whiteboarding\/\">this article<\/a> might be of some use.<\/li>\n<li>Speaking of office things not directly related to tech, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.musingabout.tech\/2021\/05\/10\/interrupting-the-interrupt\/\">this article<\/a> from <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/backupbear\">Preston de Guise<\/a> on interruptions was typically insightful.
