The November edition of the Brisbane VMUG meeting will be held on Thursday 30th November at the Toobirds Bistro and Bar (127 Creek Street, Brisbane) from 4 – 6:30pm. It’s sponsored by HyTrust and NetApp and promises to be a great afternoon.

I’m pleased to announce the first Brisbane Higher Education Special Interest Group (SIG) will be meeting on Thursday, May 11, 2017 from 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM (UTC+10:00). Get Along To The Australian VMUG UserCons in 2017

The Sydney and Melbourne VMUG UserCons are now less than a month away. If you’re in the area (or like to travel), I suggest you sign up. You can register for the Melbourne event here and the Sydney one here.

Both events will feature Duncan Epping and Amy Lewis as speakers, with a host of other VMware and community speakers providing insights and information on a range of topics. It’s a fantastic opportunity to learn something new, have a bite to eat and network with a bunch of people who are into the same thing as you are. The Sydney event will be held on March 21st at the Westin and the Melbourne event is being held on the 23rd at the Crowne. Thanks to the program sponsors VMware, and platinum sponsors Veeam (for Sydney and Melbourne) and Zerto (for Melbourne).

VMUG – Getting Started With The New VMUG Website

I wrote previously about the next Brisbane VMUG meeting coming up in February. Registration numbers have been very low. Some of that is no doubt due to summer holidays and lack motivation to think about “work-related” things. Some of it is due to local folk being interested in other events, or not having time to go to an event on a Tuesday afternoon. And some of it might be that they aren’t into the topic. However, some of it might also be due to the fact that people were finding the new VMUG website a little confusing to navigate. At least, I hope that’s why. In any case I put together a brief article that shows you in 22 or so simple steps how to sign up for a VMUG account and register for a local meeting. Now you have no excuse.
